MODEL Candice Collyer has told how her life was left “in ruins” when a former boyfriend sent X-rated snaps of her to her family, friends and colleagues.
Doctor Christopher Spearman, a personal trainer and fellow model, also posted online the two explicit images of her performing a sex act on him.
Candice, who regularly poses in The Sun for Deidre’s Photo Casebook, spoke out after he walked free from court with a suspended sentence.
She insisted: “I think the police and the authorities need to take revenge porn much more seriously.
“I cannot begin to describe how much this has impacted my life.
“I was so embarrassed, I felt worthless and I didn’t want to leave the house through fear people would recognise me for something I’m not.
“It lost me work and I felt like I couldn’t look my family in the eye.
“I have done glamour modelling but personal pics are very different to professional pics.
“It’s only been over a year and I’ve only just started being able to try and move forward.
“Now I’m trying to move on with my life and put it behind me, but I think it will take a long time.”
The pair of fitness fans, both 27, met in a gym in April 2014 and started dating four months later.
But after two months Candice feared Spearman was too controlling and dumped him.
She said he “flipped” and told her: “If that’s how you want to be I’ll ruin your life.”
She claimed he bombarded her with up to 40 phone calls a day and started using unknown numbers when she refused to answer.
When she asked him to leave her alone, he set up fake Twitter accounts and sent the explicit photograph to her friends and family.
Candice recalled: “My friend told me what he’d posted on Twitter. I knew it was him because he was the only one who had the picture.
“And then he sent it to my work colleagues, friends and family. I was mortified.
“He called me about five minutes later and laughed about what he had done.
“They were on Twitter for at least an hour before he took them down. I don’t know how anybody can be that cruel.”
Candice went to police and last March Spearman admitted to magistrates in Stevenage, Herts, two counts of sharing private sexual images.
He was given two concurrent 12-week prison sentences, suspended for 18 months, and ordered to pay £465 in fines and court costs.
